Have you ever heard the term, 'finishing well'? Usually its referring to when a person is dying, they want to finish their life well. Who doesn't, right? But I think the thing we really get mixed up about finishing our lives well, is that most of us are not at all focused on first living well! Of course everyone wants to finish well, but if we're not living every single day, every single moment, second, for Jesus the Son of God, and we keep wasting away our lives, then we're not going to finish well! Many of us, I know I'm included, think that we have till we're ninety odd some years old till we have to worry about dying. But you know what, there's kids right now that are three years old and getting a brain tumor surgery, or a a twelve-year old boy that gets killed in a car accident. None of us are guaranteed a moment of our life, we don't know how long we have.
So since we never know when our time will come, why do we tell ourselves its faraway and that we have plenty of time to 'live' right, or live well? Jesus will judge us all by our lives, and He will detect whether we trusted Him with our life and lived to our fullest for Him, or if it was a pure waste on ourselves.
Today, now, is the time to begin living well for Him...so you can finish well.
May God convict and you see His everlasting love...
